If you have an allergy — food allergy- you should avoid high risk types of restaurants, including;
- Asian cuisine — Asian restaurant usually have peanuts, tree nuts that are used in many dishes.
Bakeries — risk of cross-contact among the costumers.
- Ethnic — perhaps you have a language barrier, then you can not tell your food allergy.
- Buffets and deli stations — same with bakeries, it has risk of cross-contact among the costumers.
Minimize Risk of Food that Cause Anaphylaxis
There are many ways to minimize the risk of foods allergy. You have to minimize the exposure of foods that makes you allergy so that you will feel more secure about eating.

- Establish good relationship with manager, staff, etc of the restaurant. Then consider about using “chef card” to alert the staff about your food allergy.
- Leave the restaurant and bring your own foods inside the ‘bento’.
